Your skin should be clean from lotions, makeup, oils, and various other products the day of your appointment. It's best to shower the day before or just rinse with water the day of if you have to shower.
There are many factors that can effect a spray tan: over the counter body products, sweat, clothing rubbing, chlorine, sunscreen, skin conditions, medications, body pH level, and many more.
Avoid Dove, Victorias Secret, Aveeno, Bath and Body, and other heavy scented products (among many others).
When you have a spray tan, it is your responsibility to care for it with the correct products for best and lasting results. There are many products on the market that aim to be natural, but they have ingredients that can effect your spray tan and overall health of your skin.

Q: What do I need to do before I get a sunless tan?
A: The day before you spray tan, you should exfoliate any areas of your body you wish to tan. This is necessary to remove any dead skin cells and
to help prolong your tan. If you shave or wax, this should also be done 24 hours before your tan to avoid left over residue that can't be seen on the
skin, but acts as a barrier to the tan. Avoid wearing deodorant, makeup, lotion or any other body products. You want your skin to be clean so there
aren’t any barriers when the solution is being applied.
Q: What should I wear for my sunless tan?
A: You can wear as much or as little as you like. For men, we suggest wearing dark swim trunks or dark-colored boxer shorts. For women, we suggest wearing a dark bikini or dark bra and underwear. However, you are perfectly welcome to have your tan topless. Bring loose and baggy clothing to wear home from your appointment. Avoid sweatshirts with zippers as these can be heavy and rub the skin.
Q: What do I need to avoid once my sunless tan has been applied?
A. Don’t wash your hands or face and avoid physical activity that will make you sweat. It’s best to go home and relax while your tan is doing its job!
Q: How long until I can shower after my spray tan?
A. Instructions will be given at the time of your appointment, but in general for our regular solution you need to wait 12 hours to shower. If you use our Rapid solution, you will shower in 1 hour for a light tan, 2 hours for a medium tan, or 3 hours for a dark tan. It is recommended you don't exceed 4 hours using our Rapid solution or it may develop to an unnatural color.
Q: What do I need to do when I'm ready to shower after my spray tan has been applied?
A. Make sure your first shower after your spray tan has been applied is a water rinse. Make sure you rinse evenly everywhere and then your second
shower you can use soap again. Avoid using body lotion or soaps like Dove, Aveeno, Victorias Secret, and other scented brands. Than tan continues to
develop over the next 24 hours, so avoid lotions or other scented body products until it's had enough time to develop.
Q: How does sunless tanning work?
A: Your body is sprayed with a solution that contains a certain percentage of dihydroxyacetone (DHA), a colorless sugar that reacts with the amino acids in the top layers of your skin and over a period of a few hours turns brown.
Q: Is sunless tanning safe?
A: Yes! DHA has been approved for cosmetic use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Canadian Health Ministry, and most of the European Union (EU) member nations. It is considered nontoxic and noncarcinogenic. DHA-based sunless tanning has been recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation, American Academy of Dermatology, Canadian Dermatology Association, American Cancer Society, and the American Medical Association.
Q:Do I still have to wear sunscreen if I have a spray tan?
A: Yes! A spray tan does not protect you from the sun. We recommend Sunbum or Banana Boat lotion (no sunscreen oils).
Q: How long will my sunless tan last?
A: Your body's skin cells are continually exfoliating. Sunless tanning only affects the outer layer of skin, so again, as your skin cells naturally shed, the sunless tan will fade. Your sunless tan should last 7 to 10 days, but longer if you care for your skin by moisturizing every day with a hydrating lotion. However, we cannot offer a guarantee that it will last 7 to 10 days as everyone's skin type is different.
